The 5k Adoration Colour Run is put on by volunteers (shout out to Travis Patten and his track team!) in association with Word & Deed. Here's a little more information about Adoration Christian School, the project that we're raising funds for, and about Word & Deed, the organization who partners with Adoration.
ADORATION CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
Adoration Christian Centre is a holistic Christian development foundation serving and discipling Haitians in Port-au-Prince, focusing on poverty relief and supporting at-risk families through a quality Christian education for their children, which, in turn, impacts their communities, for the glory of Jesus Christ. Through Adoration Christian School, our partners are providing Christian education to over 500 students, all of whom are sponsored. The school began as an elementary school, but today the school offers Kindergarten through Grade 13, along with three levels of special education. They also operate a Trade School for their high school students that includes classes such as sewing, computer skills, construction, and electrician classes. It is an incredible blessing to see many Adoration students are making good grades and passing government exams. Many students are also professing Christ as their Savior and becoming members of the Église Presbytérienne Réformee de Delmas (Reformed Presbyterian Church in Delmas). Praise God for blessing this work!
WORD & DEED
Word & Deed is a Reformed Christian ministry. Their mission is to meet the spiritual and physical needs of people in the developing world in accordance with biblical principles for the glory of God.
They aim to achieve their mission by working alongside and supporting indigenous (local) churches and Christian partners in Africa, Asia, and Latin America in 16 different countries, through more than 55 ongoing projects. They also help our partners with many one-time projects such as disaster relief aid and infrastructure projects.
